About Me

I’m a writer from the San Francisco Bay Area. My background is mixed–I started in the sciences, getting degrees in molecular biology. Later, I switched to psychology and got a master’s in that. But health problems interrupted my post-graduate clinical training, so I am not a licensed therapist. Still, the education I got is very useful to me.

I got interested in Tarot in my early thirties, when I was taking a class on Jung during my graduate study in psychology. A visiting scholar used a couple of Major Arcana cards as the basis for his lecture. I was fascinated. But there was a lot going on for me, so, as many of us do, I brushed it aside.

Fifteen years later, I took it up again and started studying in earnest. I swiftly learned that the fifteen-year delay didn’t matter as much as I feared it did–no matter when I had started, I could study Tarot for the rest of my life and still know only a little. It’s a good thing I love learning.
